Men's Ministry

WE ARE A BUNCH OF GUYS WALKING TOGETHER AS FOLLOWERS OF JESUS.

We believe it is a great call to be a man of God. It’s a tough call, we know that, but it’s a great call and we stick together helping each other become the men of God we are designed to be.

As men we talk to each other as men. As men we call each other to act like men. What does that mean? Hears how the Apostle Paul exhorted the men in Church at Corinth.

Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.

1 CORINTHIANS 16:13-14

No fluff. No Bubbles. Just a good old fashion, ‘C’mon guys lets do this’. Let’s be men. Men of strength and of love. Our culture today seems to prefer one way or the other. Men are often seen as strong macho men, or sensitive new age men. Paul says lets be like Jesus and encourage each other to be both. Lets be thick skinned and tender hearted men. Men who are not easily offended because we are secure in who we are in Christ. Men who are not easily swayed because we stand firm in our faith. And lets be men that are watchful, looking out for our brothers and sisters with tender hearts ready to act in love in all we do.

The way we do this at LCC is mostly through Life Groups and smaller discipleship groups called DNA Groups. We do a few mens events throughout the year, but mostly we encourage guys to get connected into discipleship type relationships. It is in these settings where we get to live life together strengthening each other in areas we need strengthening. Sometimes we need a pat on the back and a reminder of who we are and what we have in Christ. Other times we need a rebuke calling us to repent where we are drifting. We need reminding of the gospel and the promises of God. Ultimately we need each other. Each and everyone of us need another guy in our corner and we need to be in there’s.

In 2 Timothy we see these relationships happening. Paul has invested his life into Timothy. He then tells Timothy to invest in other guys who will in turn do the same to more men.

You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.

2 TIMOTHY 2:1-2

MEN NEED OTHER MEN TO HELP THEM BE THE BEST MEN THEY CAN BE.
