Serving
We believe that serving the Lord through serving one another is a critical part of our discipleship to Jesus. One excellent way of doing this is serving the church on a sunday morning. it’s a great way to contribute, be part of the team, and meet new people!
GET STARTED
We use rostering software called Elvanto to coordinate and roster all of our serving roles. Elvanto is like a giant address book which we use to organise and plan each Sunday service team.
Creating an elvanto account
Once you’ve looked at the volunteer roles (see below) and have Signed-Up. You will receive an email with your Elvanto Log-In details. Follow the prompts to set up your Account.
Please Note: If you have a picture linked with your email address, Elvanto may borrow it as your profile picture. You can always remove your picture via your profile settings, or ask us to do this for you.

Open App — You will see a page asking for the DOMAIN

Start Serving via the Elvanto Roster Process
The process is simple.
1) Check the monthly roster invites. At the start of each month you will be sent an email letting you know which dates you’ll be on and what role you’ll be doing.
2) Accept or decline. Open the email and accept the invite.
If you need to decline: If you can’t make it for that week, you can always hit decline, but to avoid this you have the option of setting your unavailable dates ahead of time in Elvanto. The earlier you do this, the easier it for our rostering team to schedule you on. You can set up unavailability on the website or on the app (instructions mentioned below).
3) Remember & save the date. Put it in your phone, on your calendar, in your diary, or on your fridge (wherever works best for you). But just in case one of your reminder methods falls through... Elvanto will also send you a reminder each week that you’re on!
Submitting Unavailability
It helps us a lot when you submit unavailable dates ahead of time. You can do this by pressing the unavailability tab in either the app or on the website.

The smiles team set up morning tea, the communion table, the connect table, and welcome people at the front door. They also serve tea and coffee to end the service, and pack up those elements. See complete list of tasks here.

The “muscles” team shifts the furniture around the hall so that we can use it for church. This includes the creche area, the chairs in the main hall, and the outside signs. See complete list of tasks here.

Our music team leads the church in worship. You will need to have a decent measure of musical ability either in singing or playing an instrument. If you can’t sing, we still love you, but we won’t be giving you a microphone. See complete list of tasks here.

While technically still part of the music team, the tech team is responsible for setting up and running the PA and the slides on the screen. We can help train you in this area. See complete list of tasks here.
